'Fiona's Finds' Opens in Downtown Crystal Lake
"Unique boutique" specializes in new, estate and vintage household furniture an decor.
Opening a home decor boutique in downtown Crystal Lake seemed an obvious next step for Jenny and Steve Dalzell.
The couple already owned Dalzell Jewelers at 41 N. Williams St., as well as an estate buying business where they purchased used jewelry, coins and precious metals.
"When we were working with people buying precious metals, they would ask us if we could also take their other items (like furniture and decor)," Jenny Dalzell said. "At the time, we always had to say no. Fiona's Finds is basically an expansion of that business."

To walk into Fiona's, which opened Wednesday at 39 N. Williams St. next door to Dalzell Jewelers, all the couches, chairs, tables, lamps and other household items look brand new.
The store space is packed with a large selection of decorative and artsy fare in addition to furniture.

While some of the items are new, many are estate and vintage finds handpicked by Jenny and her staff. They only purchase gently used furniture and decor items from smoke-free and pet-free homes, she said.
And, they're very selective about what they buy.
"This is not an antique mall, and it's not a resale shop," Jenny Dalzell said. "Everybody has something of value they would like to get a little something (money) for, and we can resell it here in the community."
Fiona's Finds will be holding a Grand Opening sale through May 15.
