Fire Damages Barn In Woodstock

There were no animals inside the barn at the time of the fire Monday afternoon.

WOODSTOCK, IL — A fire damaged a barn in Woodstock Monday afternoon. The barn was used to store equipment and there were no animals inside.

Firefighters responded to the blaze in the 11400 block of Charles Road at about 3:50 p.m. Monday and found light to moderate smoke coming through the windows of the barn. Firefighters quickly forced their way into the barn and put the fire out within five minutes, according to a news release.

As a result of the fire, the barn sustained minor structural damage. The barn and contents are not considered a loss and initial damage estimates are less than $5000.

No injuries were reported. The fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature, and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation by the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District.
