Fire Damages Deck of Crystal Lake Home

The blaze broke out at the home in the 1500 block of Glacier Circle early Thursday.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - A blaze caused $4,000 in damage to a Crystal Lake home early Thursday. Fire crews first on scene to the blaze at the two-story home in the 1500 block of Glacier Circle found flames coming from the deck, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Fire Department. The blaze was reported by a neighbor who spotted the flames at about 12:54 a.m. on Thursday.

Those residing at the home were all able to safely get out before firefighters arrived, fire officials said. The blaze was quickly extinguished.

Fire damage was limited to the rear deck, according to the news release.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, fire officials said. No one was injured in the blaze.

Additional firefighters from the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District and the McHenry Township Fire Protection District assisted at the scene.
