First Coins of the Holiday Season Left in McHenry Co. Red Kettles
Three coins were dropped into Salvation Army red kettles this past weekend in McHenry County.
The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign saw the first coins of the holiday season dropped off this past weekend at kettles in McHenry County.
The Northwest Herald reports a South African Kugerrand was left in a kettle at the Wal-Mart in Johnsburg, a 1-ounce silver coin was dropped off at that same Wal-Mart and a half-ounce gold coin was left in a kettle at the Jewel-Osco in Fox River Grove.
The Red Kettle campaign goal is to raise $20,000 this holiday season.
