Flooding In McHenry Co. Topic of MCC Forum
The McHenry County Water Forum will be held on Sept. 11.

WOODSTOCK, Ill. – A forum focused on addressing and educating on flooding issues in McHenry County will be held Wednesday at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake. This year's McHenry County Water Forum will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium at MCC, 8900 U.S. Route 14, building B.
The volume and intensity of rainfall in McHenry County has been increasing in recent years, which leads to the potential for more frequent flooding in our communities, officials said. The forum will help give area residents information on what to expect in the future, and how individuals and their local governments can adapt to increasing rainfall, according to a news release.
The annual Water Forum is meant to provide residents, business leaders, municipal staff and elected officials in McHenry County with information on water resources from some of the most knowledgeable professionals in their fields. The program will include food that will be catered from Dukes Ale House and Kitchen followed by a great line up of guest speakers.
