MCHENRY COUNTY, IL - From downtown Algonquin to neighborhoods along the Chain O' Lakes, flooding has hit McHenry County hard. As of Monday morning, the Fox River had reached 12.3 feet at the Algonquin Tailwater, which is almost three feet above the river's flood stage. The river is expected to rise a bit more before it will recede.

The village of Algonquin had cordoned off a portion of Riverfront Park in downtown Algonquin Friday morning due to flooding. The Fox River in Algonquin reached 12.3 feet Friday morning.
