Former Crystal Lake Man Arrested For Possession Of Child Porn

The man faces possession of child porn charges in McHenry and DuPage counties.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – A former Crystal Lake man has been charged with possession of child pornography, authorities said Tuesday. The Crystal Lake Police Department along with the Illinois Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit, the Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the Glendale Heights Police Department executed a search warrant at the home of Andrew E. Alexander in Glendale Heights on Friday evening. The search was conducted following an investigation into Alexander, formerly of the 1400 block of Alexandra Boulevard in Crystal Lake, for unlawful possession of child pornography, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.

Following the search of Alexander's apartment at 1258 Fordham Drive, #104, in Glendale Heights on May 18, as well as a search of his vehicle and examination of his electronic devices, Glendale Heights Police arrested Alexander on several counts of possession of child pornography. In addition, Crystal Lake Police Department detectives charged Alexander with four counts of possession of child pornography.

Alexander was served arrest warrants while in custody in DuPage County. Meanwhile, Alexander’s McHenry County bond is set at $75,000.00.

He is next expected in court in McHenry County on June 1.
