Former LITH Deputy Chief Accused of Sexually Assaulting Juvenile

A former deputy chief for the Lake in the Hills Police Department has been charged with sexually assaulting a juvenile.
Alan Bokowski, 60, of 1382 Dola Rosa Vista in Crystal Lake, is charged with three counts of criminal sexual assault and five counts of criminal sexual abuse, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.
On Nov. 29, authorities met with concerned parents who said their juvenile daughter was sexually assaulted while at a residence in Crystal Lake, according to police. Following an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday for Bokowski.

He was taken into custody at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. He is being held at the McHenry County Jail and awaiting a bond hearing.
Bokowski spent 26 years with the Lake in the Hills Police Department, retiring in August 2006, the Daily Herald reports. He was a deputy chief in the patrol division for the last seven years of his career.
