Former McHenry Co. Man Charged With Possessing Child Porn

A former McHenry County man was arrested Sunday for possessing child pornography.

Bond has been set at $50,000 for Robert T. Rado III, 50, of Rochelle, who is charged with ten counts of possession of child pornography in McHenry County, according to a McHenry County Sheriff’s Office news release.

In 2015, authorities searched a residence at 5810 Greenview Road in Oakwood Hills after learning child porngraphy was being downloaded at that home, according to the news release.

Electronics were seized during the course of that search warrant and child pornography was allegedly found on Rado’s computer, according to a news release. Rado was interviewed after his computers were forensically
examined and he told authorities he downloaded numerous files containing child pornography, police said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Rado’s arrest, and on Sunday, he was taken into custody at an apartment complex in Rochelle, according to a news release.

He remained in custody Tuesday at the McHenry County Correctional Facility.
