MCHENRY, IL — A new entertainment venue is moving into the McHenry Downtown Theater.

The theater at 1028 N. Green St. closed in January due to economic challenges and a drop in attendance during the pandemic. The Vixen will take it place.

The live entertainment venue is now open. The renovated building has two bars, a 43-foot by 20-foot stage and a 20-foot by 10-foot on-stage video screen, upgrades to sound and lighting and a green room for performers that has a private bathroom, shower, laundry facilities and rear entry access that goes directly to the stage.
