NORTHERN SUBURBS, IL —The Fourth of July holiday might be officially over, but that doesn't mean the fun and festivities will be stopping anytime soon.

Communities across northern Illinois plan to continue the festivals, fireworks and fun this weekend and in the coming weeks. We've got a roundup of the best and brightest fireworks shows, as well as funnest festivals, happening in the coming weeks below:

Friday, July 5

Saturday, July 6

FOX RIVER GROVE: The fun gets underway at 6 p.m. at Picnic Grove Park in Fox River Grove. There will be music and then fireworks at dusk. >> More info

WONDER LAKE: Wonder Lake's Independence Day Celebration runs July 5 to 7 this year. There is a full day of fun planned for Saturday, July 6, with the day wrapping up with a water ski show at 4:30 p.m. and fireworks at dusk. >> More info
