Fox River Grove Mixed-Use Development With Apartments, Retail Advances
Planning and zoning commission backs proposal for five-story building with nearly 100 apartments and ground-floor commercial space.
FOX RIVER GROVE, IL — A proposed five-story mixed-use development in Fox River Grove is moving forward after the village’s planning and zoning commission unanimously recommended the project.
The plan calls for a building with about 97 apartments and roughly 6,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space along Route 14. The development, called Fox River Landing, would include studio, one- and two-bedroom units and amenities such as a gym, workspace and outdoor gathering areas for residents, according to Shaw Local.
Village officials have been seeking redevelopment for the two-acre downtown site for more than a decade, and the village board could take a final vote on the proposal later this month.
