FREE Aikido Classes for Adults and Children

If you're looking for a different sort of activity for the summer, for yourself, your kids, or both, check out the free Aikido classes at the Abiding Spirit Center.

Aikido is a mind-body art that isn't quite a sport, and isn't quite a martial art- it's more than these, providing a safe, effective method of self-defense without causing further violence. This training promotes mindfulness and self-centering, as well as a non-confrontational means of conflict resolution.

Additionally, Aikido can improve health and flexibility, and provide the opportunity to examine one's responses to stress and conflict, and the training to make better choices in these situations.

The Abiding Spirit Center, located at 829 Virginia Road in Crystal Lake, is offering two free weeks of training, for youths ages 8 and up,and for adults.
