Free Boat Safety Check Held This Saturday
Boaters can bring their boat to the Fox Waterway Agency in Fox Lake Saturday for a free safety check.
LAKE COUNTY, IL —The Lake County Sheriff's Office, Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Fox Waterway Agency will be joining forces this Saturday to host a boat safety check.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fox Waterway Agency, 45 S. Pistakee Lake Road in Fox Lake. Those stopping out can bring their boats by water or trailer and the Fox Waterway Agency will check the boats' safety equipment.
The safety check is free, and an appointment is not necessary, according to a post on the Lake County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

Boaters may also purchase Fox Waterway stickers, which are required by law to be displayed on boats operated on the Chain of Lakes.
