Free Concerts in the Park Kickoff in July

The concerts will be held every Wednesday at River Park.

The Geneva Park District is inviting area residents to enjoy free Concerts in the Park on Wednesdays in July. Those attending can bring their lawn chairs and blankets to River Park, 151 N. River Lane, for an evening of live entertainment. Concerts will begin at 7 p.m. and food will be available on site from Deane’s Market and Deli, and there will be a beer tent featuring local brews from Solemn Oath Brewery.

The 2019 Concerts in the Park Lineup includes:

July 10: June’s Got the Cash

  • June’s Got the Cash is a musical tribute to American Country Music icons Johnny Cash and June Carter. All shows are scripted with classic country comedy bits, historical stories, vintage costumes and songs performed from Cash’s hit collection of music from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and more.

July 17: The Saturday June Band

  • Saturday June (aka Steve Kessler) has been rocking Chicago for 20 years. The current incarnation of The Saturday June Band features the beautiful vocals of Jami Dawn, the great keyboard work of Steve Woods, the serious bass of Joe Richards, and the rhythm of Doc Jay Burstein and Dan Lazarus. The band plays with an infectious enthusiasm that draws in the listener and makes them want to get out there and dance to the Rock, Classic Rock, Indie, Alternative, Pop, Oldies, and New Wave songs they know so well.

July 24 – Mr. Myers

  • Mr. Myers blends the sounds of calypso and ska, the rhythms of reggae, and a touch of rock and roll with some favorite tunes to create their own special style of music- Caribbean Rock. Featuring wailing sax, searing rock guitar, colorful steel drums, powerful percussion and strong vocals, Mr. Myers succeeds at playing its blend of Caribbean Rock to enthusiastic mainstream audiences everywhere.

July 31- The StingRays

  • The StingRays play the greatest music ever written with the energy, passion, and authenticity of the artists they love. Go back a few decades and enjoy the Rock n’ Roll classics of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s.

River Park is located on the west side of the Fox River, just north of Route 38, and is ADA accessible. Parking is available on the street and in nearby city parking lots.
