Black Diamond and Crystal Lake Park District, along with Chicago Kite presents the Black Diamond Family Kite Festival on Sunday, October 2, 10 am-2 pm, rain or shine at Lippold Park Practice Soccer Fields A & B, Route 176, just west of Route 14 in Crystal Lake. Admission is free, courtesy of Black Diamond. The Kite Fest includes performances by Team Chicago Kite, candy drop (weather conditions permitting), family kite fly time, single-line kite flying and the first 250 children will receive a free kite and a learn-to-fly lesson. Keep your eyes to the as skies as there will be over 100 kites of all sizes flying, some as large as 90 feet will be soaring for all to see. Chicago Kite will be on hand for all your kiting needs.
