Free Riding, Lessons Offered During Opening Day at Crystal Lake's Wakeboard Park

The Quarry Cable Park & Grille will open this Saturday, June 25.

The Quarry Cable Park at Three Oaks Recreation area will open on Saturday, June 25, according to a post on The Quarry’s Facebook page.

Liquid Force and workers from The Quarry will provide a day of free riding, lessons, demo board and giveaways, according to The Quarry's Facebook post. “Free for All” at the Quarry, 517 Northwest Highway, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Quarry Cable Park & Grille, which will be located on the North Lake at Three Oaks, is a 32-acre cable wake park that will also include a beachfront bar & grille, fire pits, an area for live music and sand volleyball courts, according to the cable park’s website. The Quarry will also have baggo courts and will offer drop-in yoga classes. The map below shows the layout of the new park.

“There’s no other cable park like this. This is bringing a new activity to Crystal Lake,” Elisabeth Landt told the Northwest Herald. Landt and partner Angie Rinn will run the cable wakeboard park.

Those interested in wakeboarding at The Quarry will be pulled along a cable system. The Northwest Herald explains the setup:

The systems, built by German company SesiTec, pull riders along at between 18 and 21 mph, Landt said.The park will feature two basic courses and an advanced one – the advanced cours

e features six towers that will pull up to 10 riders at a time along a course of jumps and other features. All riders will have to wear helmets and U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets.
