Frost Advisory Issued for Lake, McHenry Counties

Temperatures are supposed to drop off into the low- to mid-30s tonight and early Saturday.

Just when we were getting used to the warmer weather, temperatures are expected to plummet again overnight.

A frost advisory has been issued for 1 to 8 a.m. Saturday for Lake and McHenry counties, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected drop into the low- to mid-30s and areas of frost could lead to damage to unprotected plants, weather officials said.

"Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered," according to the National Weather Service.

Thankfully, the cold is not expected to last. A high of 62 degrees and sunny skies is in the forecast for Saturday with a low of 47 degrees expected Saturday night. Sunday should be a beautiful day with sunny skies and a high of 80 degrees.
