Fundraiser Thursday To Help Family Of Boy, 3, Killed By Bus
Ten percent of all sales made at Texas Roadhouse in Crystal Lake will go to the family of Samuel Huddleston.

CARY, IL — A fundraiser will be held at the Crystal Lake Texas Roadhouse tonight with proceeds going to benefit the family of a 3-year-old boy who was hit and killed by a school bus last month in Cary.
The fundraiser will run from 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday with 10 percent of total sales being donated to the family of Samuel Huddleston. Huddleston, 3, died at about 3:40 p.m. on May 16 after a school bus hit him while he was riding on a toy in the area of Cherry and Hill streets.
The bus driver, who works for District 47 and District 155, has been placed on paid administrative leave, and an investigation is underway into the cause of the collision. In recent weeks, authorities told Patch they did not suspect drugs, alcohol or the speed the bus was traveling was a factor in the collision.

Proceeds from the Thursday night fundraiser will help offset expenses following the tragedy for the family of seven.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe has raised more than $8,500. Those funds will help the family's five surviving children "navigate through this tragedy" and ease other financial burdens the family has taken on.
