Grooming Charge Filed Against Crystal Lake Man Accused Of Sending Sexual Message To Juvenile
Clicerio Alvarez Mascote, 58, was taken into custody on February 6 after a resident reported inappropriate messages sent to a juvenile.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – A Crystal Lake man faces a felony grooming charge after a report was made to the Crystal Lake Police Department.
Clicerio Alvarez Mascote, 58, of 330 Lancaster Drive, has been charged with one count of grooming, a Class 4 felony, in connection with a report made to police on Thursday.
On that night, a resident and her juvenile child went to the Crystal Lake Police Department to report Mascote was sending inappropriate messages to the juvenile, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.

These messages were sent via an instant messaging application, and some of the content was described as sexual in nature, oldie said.
Mascote was taken into custody on Friday and transported to the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility.

The Crystal Lake Police Department is actively continuing its investigation into this incident. The department encourages anyone with information related to the case to contact them directly by calling 815-356-3620.
Additionally, the department provides an anonymous tip service, police said.
