Halloween Traffic Detail Planned for Crystal Lake
The traffic crackdown is expected to get underway in town.
Crystal Lake Police Department: Crystal Lake Police Department announced plans forHalloween traffic enforcement with a focus on impaired and unbuckled drivers. The
safety campaign will run from October 19th through November 3rd to encompass
weekends leading up to and after Halloween.
The Crystal Lake Police Department urges motorists to commit to sober driving this
Halloween when children and their families will be walking through neighborhoods after
dark in search of candy and spooky fun. If you will be out scaring up a good time,
remember to plan for a sober ride home.
In addition to looking for drunk drivers, the Crystal Lake Police Department will be
stepping up seat belt enforcement, particularly at night when seat belt usage rates are at
their lowest.

If you are drunk or impaired by marijuana or other drugs, call a taxi, take mass transit, use your favorite ride-sharing service, or call a sober friend or family member to get you home safely.
Promptly report drunk drivers to law enforcement by pulling over and dialing 911.
Make sure everyone in your vehicle wears their seat belt. Not only is it the law, it’s your best defense against an impaired driver.
