Hannah Beardsley Students to Present During 'TED Talks' Thursday
The talks will be held at the middle school on Thursday evening.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - Seventh-grade students from Hannah Beardsley Middle School will strive to bring change to their communities by presenting on topics they’re passionate about at the second annual team TED talks Thursday.
The talks will be held at Hannah Beardsley, 515 E. Crystal Lake Avenue, from 6:30 to to 7:30 p.m. This year’s theme, which students coined “UnlimiTED,” will feature presentations on a variety of topics, including:
- Running a Marathon
- How Positivity Can Change the World
- Find Your Talent
- Standing Up for What is Right
- Actually Bipolar?
- What Do You Have Against the Police?
- The Truth About Perfection
- We Need to Make a Change Now (climate)
- The True Meaning of Beauty
- Be Your Own Popular
- Everything Wrong with Technology
- Facing Adversity
- Seeing the Colors of Music
- Celebrity Obsession
- Poverty
Students research, write and prepare their interactive presentations and also creatively market them to parents and the school community. Last year’s event featured 24 speakers and an audience of 75 that included parents, students, teachers, administrators, and social workers.
