MCC Offers Hidden Gem in Zen Garden
Zen garden offers place for students to meditate, reflect.
Within the walls of McHenry County College is one of the hidden gems of Crystal Lake—an area of tranquility and peace, where one can just be.
It is a quiet space tucked away inside building A and not visible from the exterior of the school. It is located on the main floor behind the brick walls of the Sage Center. It opened in 2005, and it's commonly know as a zen garden.

Well, enlightenment is the answer.
The zen garden at MCC was designed by a zen master. It was given a facelift over the summer,which included the aid of a lot of volunteers and dump trucks filled with rocks.

Zen gardens are also know as Japaneese rock gardens or dry landscapes that have no water present.
In Buddhism, it is believed that with regular meditation, one can begin to achieve enlightenment. Enlightenment is basic idea of being aware of the true nature of all things. The concept is that within the knowledge and understanding a comfort is found, and a greater truth becomes known to the practicioner.
And besides, don't we all need somewhere we can go, to try to get in touch with our inner beings?
