'Hilarity Ensues' After Raccoon Found in Dugout at High School Softball Game

A raccoon forced officials to move the regional final softball game at Crystal Lake South to Cary-Grove High School Thursday.

The Crystal Lake South softball team really had to pull out all the stops Thursday to beat Grant Community High School -- not just on the field but also off the field after a raccoon made its way into the opposing team’s dugout.

The raccoon may have ended up winning that battle as the game was eventually moved to Cary-Grove High School. But Crystal Lake South ended up victorious on the field, winning 4-3 in the Class 4A Dundee-Crown Regional final, according to the Northwest Herald.

The team also made a winning move by recapping the “raccoon saga” on the team's Twitter page. "Hilarity ensues" after those at the game try several different methods to try and coax the raccoon out.
