Holiday Lights Recycling Program Under Way in Crystal Lake

City of Crystal Lake will hold a holiday lights recycling program Nov. 9 through Feb. 26.

The City of Crystal Lake, in partnership with Elgin Recycling, will be accepting holiday lights for recycling from Monday, November 9, 2015 through Friday, February 26, 2016.

The holiday lights recycling program accepts all holiday string lighting, which includes mini-lights (or Italian lights), C7 lights, C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights, extension cords, etc. All colors and lengths will be accepted. Garland, live greens, wreaths or other non-recyclables are not accepted through this program.

Residents can drop-off their unwanted holiday lights at City Hall, located at 100 W. Woodstock Street, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Drop-off bins are located in the City Hall lobby next to the Finance/Administration counter.
