Home Uninhabitable Following Weekend Blaze

The fire broke out Saturday at the home in McHenry, fire officials said. No one was injured in the blaze.

MCHENRY, IL — A McHenry home is uninhabitable following a house fire Saturday. The McHenry Township Fire Protection District was called to the 5900 block of Tomlinson Drive in McHenry for the blaze, according to press release from the fire protection district.

Fire crews first at the scene found a fire showing on the exterior of the home that had spread to the attic, fire officials said. The residents home at the time were able to safely get out before firefighters arrived, and no one was injured in the blaze.

The fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damage and the home is currently uninhabitable.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
