Home Uninhabitable Following Weekend Fire

The blaze broke out Saturday night at a single-family home in McHenry.

MCHENRY, IL — A McHenry home is uninhabitable following a fire Saturday night, fire officials said.

The blaze broke out at about 10 p.m. at a two-story single-family home in the 5000 block of Abbington Drive, according to a news release from the McHenry Township Fire Protection District. Everyone who was inside the home was able to safely get out, and no one was injured in the blaze.

Firefighters got the blaze under control within 20 minutes, according to fire officials. The home has been deemed uninhabitable, and a damage estimate was not immediately available.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
