Mom's Facebook Post Helps Raise Funds for Homeless Man's Hotel Stay
The Facebook post by Hillary Kaplan helped to raise money to put a homeless man up at a hotel for two nights.
Hillary Kaplan and her son got to know Ed, a local homeless man, who they brought food to and befriended over recent months, according to CBS Chicago. He has been living out of his car in the Jewel-Osco parking lot.
CBS Chicago reports she wanted to find a way to get Ed out of the cold and posted a message on her Facebook page, asking for help to raise money that would pay for Ed to stay at a Super 8 hotel in Crystal Lake for a night. She received an outpouring of support and brought in enough funds for a two-night stay for Ed, and his dogs, at the local hotel, according to the CBS report.
