Horse Stable Owner Accused Of Sexually Abusing Teen Employee

The McHenry County man met the girl when she was a young rider at the stable and later hired her, prosecutors said.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Pretrial release has been denied for a 52-year-old Richmond man accused of sexually abusing a teen while she worked at a horse stable in McHenry County.

Raymond Krussell first met the girl when she was a young child taking riding lessons at Krussell Stables and later hired her at age 15 years old, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office. He is accused of grooming her and starting to send her sexually explicit images of himself via text.

He then began to sexually assult her at least once per week for about a year when she was 16 or 17 years old, according to the news release.

An investigation into the sexually assaults led to the following charges being filed in McHenry County Circuit Court: aggravated criminal sexual abuse, criminal sexual assault, distribution of harmful material to a minor and grooming.

During a hearing on Feb. 6, a McHenry County Circuit Court judge denied pretrial release.
