You see fewer balloons floating over Cary since Windy City BalloonPort Inc. stopped using the Norge Ski Jump in Fox River Grove as a launch pad.

But a balloon was seen early Monday morning, floating low across the skiline, eventually coming to rest in a gravel pit in Lake in the Hills.

About a dozen waving passengers were in the basket.
