Human Trafficking Sting Nets 1 Arrest In McHenry County
Jesus Cortez of Woodstock has been charged with indecent solicitation of a minor and grooming.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A Woodstock man faces solicitation and grooming charges following a human trafficking sting conducted by the McHenry County Human Trafficking Task Force.
Jesus Cortez was taken into custody last week and has been charged with indecent solicitation of a minor and grooming, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office. The arrest followed a weeks-long probe by the McHenry County Human Trafficking Task Force, which included several covert conversations and undercover operations.
The McHenry County Human Trafficking Task Force is made up of Algonquin Police Department, Cary Police Department, Crystal Lake Police Department, Huntley Police Department, Lake in the Hills Police Department, Johnsburg Police Department, McHenry City Police Department, McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, Spring Grove Police Department and Woodstock Police Department.

“Thank you to the police departments and federal agencies that participated in the Taskforce as we continue to confront the urgent problem of human trafficking in all its forms throughout the County,” said McHenry County State's Attorney Patrick Kenneally in a statement.
