Cocktail Delivery Allowed Under Bill Passed By IL House, Senate

The measure passed in the House and Senate Saturday night.

ACROSS ILLINOIS — Legislation allowing bars and restaurants to offer carryout and delivery of mixed drinks during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic breezed through the Illinois House and Senate Saturday night. The bill will allow businesses to serve drinks in tamper-proof containers and customers can either pick up or have the beverages delivered directly to their homes, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The bill passed by 56-0 in the Senate and by 104-6 in the House. The bill is headed now to Gov. J.B. Pritzker's desk for final approval.

"I'm so glad that it passed ... and I'll sign it as soon as it comes to my desk," Pritzker said Tuesday.
