Injured Hawk Found By Conservation Officers Released Into Wild

The red-tailed hawk was cared for over the past year at the McHenry County Conservation District's Wildlife Resource Center.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — After more than a year of care, an injured red-tailed hawk has been released back into the wild. In September 2018, McHenry County Conservation District officers Bronge and Retek responded to a scene where they found the injured bird, according to a post on the MCCD Facebook page.

The hawk was transported to the conservation district's Wildlife Resource Center where it was cared for over the past year. After a long road to recovery, the bird was rehabilitated, according to MCCD officials.

The bird was recently released near where it was found, according to the Facebook post.
