Keynote speaker to discuss climate change at TLC event Jan. 26
The Land Conservancy of McHenry County hosts Annual Celebration Brunch: Keynote to discuss climate change

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) will host a celebration of the people who work to preserve and restore land in McHenry County on Sunday, Jan. 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at D’Andrea Banquet Hall, 4419 Northwest Highway in Crystal Lake.
The event will feature brunch, a raffle and silent auction, and a ceremony to honor community partners, volunteers and other local people who represent the conservation ethic in McHenry County.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Marjorie Brooks, who will discuss how people can help wildlife and ecosystems adapt to climate change. Dr. Brooks is an associate professor in the Department of Zoology at Southern Illinois University. Her research focuses on understanding and reducing human impacts on the diversity of life found in rivers, streams, lakes and wetlands.

Tickets are on sale for the event at www.ConserveMC.org. TLC members are $45 per person ($55 after Jan. 17) and nonmembers are $55 per person ($65 after Jan. 17).
The Land Conservancy of McHenry County is a member-based private nonprofit dedicated to preserving natural, scenic and agricultural land.
