The community is welcome on July 3 for the first day of the five day 34th annual Lakeside Festival, voted ’11, ’12 and ’13 Best Festival in McHenry County by Shaw Suburban Media, held on the grounds of the historic Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake, IL. Lakeside Fest is hosted by Lakeside Legacy Foundation, and it is the organization's largest fundraiser and put on by community volunteers. Profits from this event support the mission to protect and preserve the property for generations to come.
On July 3 gates open at 4pm, Sinful Saints begin playing at 4:30 pm, followed by Pirates Over 40 at 7:30 pm. Admission to the Midway Carnival is free of charge, with a $5 gate entrance donation to Lakeside Legacy Foundation to the taste by the lake food and beverage tents and music stages. Kids 12 and under, along with active military members, enter free of charge while seniors 65+ can enter for a $2 entrance fee. Parking is available on Country Club, Ringling Road, and Golf Road. There will be Unlimited Carnival Ride wristbands from 4 pm through 8 pm. Carnival Wristband are sold by Windy City Amusements in the carnival midway. Lakeside offers a $1 coupon for unlimited wristbands. Coupons will be at the yellow Lakeside tent entrances.
The proceeds from Lakeside Fest benefit Lakeside Legacy Arts Park and the Historic Dole Carnival, and the continuation of a vision to create a world class community arts center. The Festival proceeds ensure the preservation and protection of the 12-acre property. Lakeside is also home to ‘the Listening Room’ a 100 seat state of the art entertainment venue. This fun filled festival has a purpose, and that is to raise the funds of the foundation to continue fulfilling our mission and vision to be a community center that cultivates the arts and preserves history.
