The Land Conservancy Hosts Annual Celebration Brunch
Keynote speakers to discuss producing healthy food in a way that is good for the earth

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC), a nonprofit land trust, will host a celebration of the people who work to preserve and restore land in McHenry County on Sunday, Jan. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at D’Andrea Banquet Hall, 4419 US-14 in Crystal Lake.
The event will feature brunch, silent auction items and a ceremony to honor community partners, volunteers and other local people who represent the conservation ethic in McHenry County.
The keynote speakers are Mike Biver, Katie Kelley and Kevin Kelley of Terra Vitae Farms in Woodstock. Their presentation, entitled, “Better for You. Better for Them. Better for the Earth,” covers how and why they came together to form their family-run farm with their diverse backgrounds in the fields of health care and conventional farming. They will discuss how their farm produces healthy food in a way that is good for the earth.
Tickets are on sale for the event at www.ConserveMC.org. TLC members are $55 per person and nonmembers are $65 per person.
