The Land Conservancy Hosts Tree and Shrub Identification Class June 1

Attendees will learn how to identify common native trees and shrubs based on their buds, bark and leaves.

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) is providing an opportunity to learn about McHenry County’s native trees and shrubs at its Tree and Shrub Identification class with Restoration Ecologist Megan Oropeza on Thursday, June 1 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Ryders Woods, 750 Kimball Ave. Woodstock.

Attendees will learn how to identify common native trees and shrubs based on their buds, bark and leaves. The class will begin with basic identification techniques, then participants will study the trees and shrubs at Ryders Woods. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather.
