The Land Conservancy Hosts Tree and Shrub Identification Class June 16

Learn to identify trees by studying their leaves and bark.

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) is providing an opportunity to learn about trees and shrubs commonly seen in McHenry County at its Tree and Shrub Identification class on Tuesday, June 16 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Ryders Woods, 750 Kimball Ave. Woodstock.

TLC’s ecologist will show attendees how to identify common native trees and shrubs based on their buds, bark and leaves. The class will begin with basic identification techniques, then participants will study the trees and shrubs at Ryders Woods. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather.
