The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) has native plants, shrubs, trees, rain barrels and composters available for preorder March 21-April 17 during its Spring Sustainability Sale. Items can be purchased on TLC’s website, at store.conservemc.org

The sale offers a variety of native plants and shrubs. Oak trees in sizes ranging from 3-gallon to 10-gallon containers are also available to order. Plants start around $3.50, shrubs start at $39 and trees start at $42 and are listed as appropriate for sun, shade, or wet areas. The sale features some unique and unusual native plants in addition to more common varieties.

Recycled rain barrels and composters from Upcycle Products are also available during the sale, starting at $80. Larger rain barrels are available in a variety of colors including blue, grey, black and terra cotta. Rain barrels capture rainwater and divert it for use on gardens. Tumbling and standard composters are also available. Composters decompose food and turn it into organic matter for garden use.
