'Lightning Laser Tag' Opens in Crystal Lake
Lightning Lager Tag open June 23 at 19 E. Berkshire Lane.
There's a cool new place in town that's guaranteed to chase away the summer doldrums.
Lightning Laser Tag recently opened at 19 E. Berkshire Ln., Crystal Lake. In addition to laser tag, Lightning Laser Tag also has an arcade and two party rooms, according to owner Justin Christophersen, of Lake in the Hills.
The business is a perfect fit for the location, which was home to a laser tag arena years ago.

"We decided to open basically because there is not much to do for the 12 to 22 year olds in this area," Christophersen said. "Most places either cater to the younger group. And for the 21 to 22-year-old group it's the bars."
Lightning Laser Tag will be open from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; noon to 11 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for birthday parties only on Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday for the general public.

"We are striving to be a safe, family environment as well as less expensive then the nearest competition," Christophersen said. "With our daily specials and constant coupons, there is always a deal going on here."
