4 Kids In House With Feces On Floor, No Food, Dirty Clothes, Loaded Gun: Police
A Wonder Lake couple charged in the October 2020 child endangerment case are expected to appear in court in the coming weeks.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The parents of four young children, whom authorities said lived in a McHenry County home with feces on the floor and a loaded semi-automatic gun within easy reach, are heading back to court.
Prosecutors filed child endangerment charges against Jennifer Lamb, 37, and Jason Lamb, 38, after police were called to check on their four children — ages 4, 6, 8 and 10 — at their home in the 7800 block of East Maplewood Drive in Wonder Lake on Oct. 30. In addition, Jason Lamb faces aggravated domestic abuse charges after authorities accused him of putting his hands around the neck of his 6-year-old son and choking him on Sept. 15, according to a criminal complaint.
When officers arrived at the home on the afternoon of Oct. 30, they found piles of garbage outside the house and deplorable conditions inside, police said. In addition to feces on the floor, no food in the pantry, no clean clothes for the children and no working smoke detectors, officers said they found a loaded semi-automatic gun on a bed within easy reach of the children.
