Local Auto Parts Store Celebrates Grand-Opening

Community members welcomed O'Reilly's to Cary on Friday, June 3.

In the past week, Cary has seen three businesses celebrating openings, including No Excuses Fitness, Buddha Bean coffee shop and O'Reilly Auto Parts.

"The village of Cary is principally a bedroom community, so we’re always welcoming in more businesses, Cary Mayor Tom Kierna said. "We’ve been working with O’Reilly’s, along with the owner of the shopping center, to bring them to Cary for the last year.

O'Reilly Auto Parts has been open since April 8 of this year and ever since they put out the welcoming signs, business has been growing, according to store manage Dean Wirth.

Wirth, who worked for a competitor, brought his work crew to O'Reilly Auto Parts.

"The people that work for me, have worked for me for quite a long time, so we’re like a big family here," Wirth said. "I’ve been in Cary for over 16 years, I know a lot of people and a lot of people that come in are friends of mine or people that I’ve seen around town, and now they are loyal customers."

Wirth said as a store manager he doesn't boss his workers around, whatever they do, he does as well.

“It feels great, it’s a great town, I’m excited to be here," Bobby Baker, district manager said. "We hope to create some jobs for the community of Cary and we're proud to be a business member in Cary.

Cary does have two auto parts stores but Kierna said, "There’s room for all the businesses in the community because many of those businesses have established corporate accounts. O’Reilly’s is a national chain with a good reputation and I think they’ll filll their niche area in the community.

The Cary-Grove Chamber of Commerce, which is a resource for networking and marketing, has been a busy organization, with businesses coming to town and sponsoring the first ever Cary Farmers' market on this upcoming Sunday.

"Certainly, everybody feels, I think very positive, Suzanne Corr, Executive Director of the Cary-Grove Chamber of Commerce said. "I think people feel things are moving in the right direction."

She added, "I think there is a lot going on in Cary right now, summertime is just a very active time for the community and summertime is a great time to open up a business because everyone is out and about and involved in the community.
