“The biggest competition is the couch,” Rick Noelte said. For some people, it is difficult to come to the gym on a consistent basis. But “we try to take away the intimidation factor,” he said.
Membership-focused is the crux of the club’s goal to attract and keep members.
Nikke Noelte said expanding to Cary was part of a franchise strategy because of the town’s health-consciousness and location. The membership experience and 24-7 access that allows members to come and go as the please, separates Anytime from its competitors, Noelte said.
The Noeltes also owns the Anytime Fitness location in Lakemoor.
Kathy Baker of Lakemoor said her husband has been a member of Anytime for about five years. “My husband is a member and goes six days a week,” she said. Baker said her husband found working out a gym allowed him to get more done.
Anytime Fitness in Cary offers more than workout equipment. Rick Noelte has a wide array of experience in sports medicine, training professional athletes, 10 years of personal training and his experience as a former athletic trainer for the NASA Kennedy Space Center.
Noelte said he would help astronauts before and after missions with strength building.
The diverse experience allows Noelte to focus on members at an individual level and answer questions specific to their needs.
, which included $100,000 for the economic development program, which aims to retain and attract new businesses. Anytime fitness is the first new business in Cary for 2012 and “we’re excited,” Mayor Kierna said.
Kierna said he hopes the economy is improving and that the tax base will expand in Cary.
Nikke Noelte said long-term goals include adding more equipment and to build around their members. “We’re here to serve you,” she said.
