Local Holiday Display Garners National Attention

Mack Manor in Fox RIver Grove appeared on the reality TV show, "The Great Christmas Light Fight."

A Fox River Grove couple and their popular Christmas holiday display that locals can drive through garnered national attention this past week. Laura and David Mack have been decking out their home, aptly named “Mack Manor,” for the past 32 years, the Northwest Herald reports. The home at 1100 Algonquin Road was featured on ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight” on Monday.

Each week, four families with over-the-top Christmas displays are featured in the show, with the best display winning $50,000. The local couple did not win the top prize but said they appreciated getting to share their holiday spirit with the entire country.

Meanwhile, the opening for the drive-thru light display has gotten pushed back due to the recent snowstorm. So, residents can’t check out the local display quite yet. But, Mack Manor should be up and running soon.
