CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake Park District will again be holding its Luminaria Walk at Veteran Acres Park this year with fewer restrictions in place.

The event first began in 2019 and was scaled back in 2020 amid a spike in coronavirus case, said park district marketing manager Jenny Leech. In its initial year, the public could come and walk an illuminated trail at Veteran Acres Park during the one-day event. There was campfires and hot cocoa as well as holiday music.

In 2020, the park district required pre-registration and just a simplified lighted trail walk with no ground activities, Leech said.

In its third year, the event will run five days, Dec. 1-5.
