Man Accused Of Intentionally Running Over Wife, Fleeing Scene

The 50-year-old man remains in custody and his wife has been hospitalized following the incident last week in Oakwood Hills, police said.

OAKWOOD HILLS, IL — A 50-year-old Oakwood Hills man has been jailed after prosecutors say he intentionally struck and ran over his wife with a vehicle during a domestic incident Friday evening.

Authorities allege Pablo Contreras backed into his wife in a driveway, ran over her twice, and then fled the scene without helping her, Shaw Local is reporting. Authorities said the woman has been hospitalized, and medical officials "tentatively reported" she'd suffered a crushed pelvis and possible skull fracture, and was placed on a breathing tube.

Contreras has been ordered to remain detained as he awaits his trial on charges of aggravated domestic battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and leaving the scene of an accident with injury.
