Man In Critical Condition After Wauconda Township Crash
Lake County Sheriff's Office officials say they're investigating what led to a man crashing his car Thursday night in Wauconda Township.

WAUCONDA TOWNSHIP, IL — Lake County Sheriff's Office officials say they're investigating after responding to a crash Thursday night in the area of West Ivanhoe Road and West Brown Road. When sheriff's deputies arrived to the scene at 11 p.m. they say they found a 51-year-old Island Lake man unconscious and trapped inside a damaged 2018 Subaru WRX. Officials say Firefighters and paramedics removed him from the car and he was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical, life-threatening injuries.
According to LCSO officials, a preliminary investigation shows the man was driving northbound on West Brown Road where he failed to get around a curve, drove off the road and hit a tree.
There were no other passengers in the car.
