Coroner IDs Man Killed When Boat Hits Tree
The speedboat left the Fox River in Holiday Hills and landed in the backyard of a home Wednesday afternoon.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A man killed after his boat ran up onto a yard in Holiday Hills and crashed with a tree has been identified as Raymond Jezierski, 58, of Fox River Grove, according to the McHenry County Coroner's Office.
Jezierski was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, which occurred at about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 2400 block of South Riverview Drive, authorities said. An autopsy revealed the boater died from blunt trauma of the chest.
The coroner's office is still waiting on toxicology results, according to a news release.

Emergency personnel from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office and McHenry Township Fire Protection District initially were called for a report of a boat on fire. When they arrived, they found the speedboat and Jezierski, who was already dead, in the backyard of a home, according to Byrnes.
The investigation has been turned over to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Office of Law Enforcement and the McHenry County Coroner's Office.
