Man Flown To Hospital After Falling From Bike: Authorities

CARY, IL — A man was flown to a Level 1 trauma center Thursday evening after falling from his bicycle and losing consciousness in Cary, fire officials said.

Cary Fire Protection District crews responded around 5:55 p.m. to the 100 block of Detroit Street near Swiss Automation for a report of a bicycle accident, the Lake & McHenry County Scanner is reporting. Paramedics determined the man had suffered a potentially serious head injury,prompting a medical helicopter to respond to the Mercyhealth helipad in Crystal Lake.

The man's condition was not immediately available, and further details about the accident were not released.
