Man Found Dead In Creek, Authorities Investigate Death: Police

The body was found in the Jelkes Creek near South 8th Street and Boncosky Road in West Dundee, police said.

WEST DUNDEE, IL — An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in a creek in Kane County.

The West Dundee Police Department contacted the Elgin Police Department at about 10:50 a.m. on Monday regarding the body found in the Jelkes Creek near South 8th Street and Boncosky Road in West Dundee, according to a news release from the Elgin Police Department.

Police removed the body from the water, and an autopsy is scheduled with the Kane County Coroner’s office on Wednesday to determine the cause and manner of death. Efforts are also underway to positively identify the decedent, police said.
